What Is Rolled Gold?

Hi,

I was wondering what these numbers might mean on an old (gold) pocket watch.  On the inside back panel it says ROLLED GOLD WARRENTED 10 YEARS, and the initials VB in a box, and then these numbers – 1525 – 80.
