The Two-Mile Gold Occurrence is near Saint Regis, Montana. Historically the site has been associated with the Ward Creek Area which is now part of the Lolo National Forest. Ore mineralization has been found at this location, however the precise grade, tonnage, and extent of the mineralization are not known. There has been no production and little to no activity other than routine claim maintenance since the mineral discovery. The ore mined is composed of gold. This is virgin ground, ready for exploration.
Geology and Mineral Deposits of the St. Regis-Superior Area Mineral County, Montana
The host rock in this area is sand and gravel from the Holocene epoch 11,784 years ago to the present. The Northern Rocky Mountains physiographic province of the Rocky Mountain System characterizes the geomorphology of the surrounding area.
Terrain
The northward-facing slopes have sparse stands of pines, firs, and other conifers, whereas the southward-facing slopes, and the valley terrain are commonly grass, brush covered, and sparsely timbered. Our mining activities will mainly require the removal of low-growing alder brush which quickly regenerates from roots left in the ground or by vigorous natural reseeding with alder being one of the first types of vegetation to reseed itself after a forest fire or soil surface disturbance.
The Wolf Valley claims are intriguing, but unproven. Sampling to date shows an abundance of black sand and flour gold. The elevation of the WV claims provides earlier access in the spring, later in the fall, and is very easy access off of 1-90 at Two Mile Creek just outside of Saint Regis, Montana.
Where will you mine next season?
All claims listed for sale have been sampled and researched to establish worth. Only that ground meeting complete satisfaction and bearing realistic potential for gold were acquired. Several tenures comprise ground not before thoroughly or seriously worked for placer. Many of these locations comprise potential tertiary benches or buried channels, suitable for smaller-scale operations.
Whether a major commercial mining company, a serious junior mining concern, a recreational miner, the weekend prospector, or individuals simply wishing to enjoy the out-of-doors while trying their hand at unearthing lustrous treasures, whether using a pan, sluice, searching with a detector or employing other recovery methods, properties hereunder listed, hold excellent potential. Those claims, contiguous to one another, may be purchased individually or as a group. Group prices may apply.
Climate, Length of Operating Season
The property is located in a climate characterized by long cold winters and moist springs. Temperatures range from summer highs to winter lows of approximately 95 degrees Fahrenheit to negative 30 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively. Average recorded precipitation produces approximately 25 inches of rainfall and up to 50 inches of snowfall annually. Mining operations can occur year-round, with periodic pauses during extreme weather.
Two-Mile Creek is a third order watershed with an area of 10 square miles and an average annual precipitation of 50 inches.
